Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacy operations by preparing and dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse settings, including LTC pharmacies, hospitals, and acute care environments, contributing directly to patient health and safety.

Duties

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
• Assist pharmacists with medication administration
• Manage medication intake processes, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and offering medication guidance
• Maintain accurate medical terminology records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
• Perform medication reconciliation and assist with medication distribution in acute care environments
• Uphold safety standards through adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control procedures
• Assist in training new staff or interns as needed

Requirements

• Valid pharmacy technician certification/license required
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with pharmacy software systems and inventory management
• Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
• Critical care experience or hospital experience is highly desirable
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions
