EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Assists with maintaining, promoting and evaluating the homeless response program consistent with City goals, objectives and policies and applicable federal, state, and City ordinances, regulations and laws.Supports an outreach-initiated resolution approach, including first point of priority access to shelter and wrap around services. Provides outreach, education and support to individuals in need. Makes referrals to appropriate services.Works collaboratively with internal and external resources to establish relationships that build and maintain trust and further compliance with program requirements.Assists individuals with mental health, substance abuse, homelessness and other social service needs, requiring considerable public contact. Acts as liaison between individuals, caregivers and service providers. Follows up with individuals and/or emergency medical contacts and social providers.Cultivates business relationships to increase the education, communication and understanding of the program and increase voluntary participation.Provides information and assistance to the public. Refers to other government agencies, as appropriate.Solicits program feedback to enhance program engagement and compliance.Prepares, edits, disseminates or mails out correspondence, reports and outreach materials.Identifies potential resources and partnerships that contribute to the program.Assists in scheduling and oversight of clean-up, collection, storage and repatriation.Schedules and coordinates meetings and functions. Determines need for, and type of, informational materials in support of events, activities and meetings.Assists with preparation of grant agreements. Performs technical administrative work in managing grant activities. Collaborates with program managers and Finance staff to ensure compliance with grant requirements and timelines. Tracks grant expenses and revenue. Submits requests for reimbursement. Maintains grant records, as assigned.Performs administrative support functions including, but not limited to, contract coordination, regulatory compliance and program audits.Assists in data collection efforts to understand and track trends and program performance.Assists in budget maintenance and administration.Updates and maintains a current lists of available local and statewide homelessness resources.Assists in educating local businesses regarding impacts of homelessness. Responds to concerns and inquiries in a timely manner.Organizes, monitors and maintains accurate and up to date databases, files, records and other documents. Maintains program records in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.Creates, updates and implements process improvement procedures, tasks, workflows and systems.Maintains current desk procedures and tasks to explain position responsibilities.Other job functions: Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Works in an office or meeting room setting and at field locations in all weather extremes.Attends meetings or performs duties outside of normal office hours. Travels by car.Exposed to traffic, dust, noise, chemicals and other physical and environmental hazards.Possibility of exposure to emotional circumstances; irate, disgruntled and sometimes hostile individuals.Requires the ability toUse appropriate safety equipment and follow safety policies, practices and procedures.Sit or stand for long periods.
