Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes that delight our guests. Your expertise in Japanese cuisine, food handling, and food safety will ensure that every plate served meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to fine dining excellence. Start date march 1. Train for a week before start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry.
• Maintain impeccable knife skills to ensure clean, consistent cuts for all seafood and ingredients.
• Plan and execute menu items that balance tradition with innovative presentation.
• Ensure all food handling and safety standards are strictly followed to uphold hygiene regulations.
• Assist in food prep, including cleaning, portioning, and organizing ingredients for efficient service.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service hours.
• Support catering events by preparing sushi platters and specialty items for large groups.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within fine dining or Japanese cuisine settings.
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
• Familiarity with dietary department standards and dietary aide practices is a plus.
• Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to handle food safely and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Previous restaurant experience emphasizing kitchen experience and food handling skills is highly valued.
