Story Property Management is a fast-growing property management company in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and our Maintenance & Make Ready team is expanding We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Maintenance / Make Ready Technician to join our staff.
This position is primarily responsible for performing all necessary repairs and preparation work on vacant residential rental homes to ensure they are move-in ready for new tenants (Make Ready), as well as completing general maintenance on occupied properties.
Position Details & Benefits:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday hours a week)

Responsibilities:
The majority of this role's duties will revolve around make-ready preparation. We are seeking someone who is detailed, takes pride in their work, and is diligent in completing tasks correctly.
- Complete comprehensive make-ready work on vacant units to prepare them for new tenancy.
- Perform interior painting, including repairing and painting doors, windows, walls, and ceilings.
- Execute tape/bed and texture work on walls and ceilings.
- Repair or replace appliances, fixtures, flooring, and other components as needed.
- Ensure all units are clean, safe, and in good working condition prior to tenant move-in.
- Coordinate with property management staff to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks.
- Perform other related maintenance and repair duties as required.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Sheetrock Repair
- Tape/Bed
- Texture application
- Interior Painting
Experience with any of the following is a strong advantage:
- Installing and repairing showers & tile.
- Basic plumbing repairs (e.g., toilets, sinks, faucets).
- Basic electrical work (e.g., light switches, plugs).
- Floor installation.
- Countertop installation.

Final Candidate Process
A background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle background search will be required for all final candidates during the application process. A final written offer of employment from Story Property Management will be contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle background search. All candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
