Job Description
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for end‐user IT support, ensuring that technical issues are resolved efficiently and professionally. You will manage daily helpdesk operations while also executing advanced technical tasks. These include network maintenance and troubleshooting, server upkeep, and managing virtual environments-particularly using VMware. Your combined expertise in user support and system administration will help maintain smooth operations and ensure our technology remains secure, stable, and up to date. Key Responsibilities Helpdesk Support
* Provide first‐line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues. * Troubleshoot workstations, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals. * Maintain and administer user accounts, permissions, and access control (Active Directory, Office 365, etc.). * Address service requests promptly, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
Advanced IT Tasks
* Perform routine network maintenance and troubleshooting to optimize and secure connectivity. * Oversee server maintenance, including updates, performance monitoring, and backup operations. * Manage virtual environments using hypervisors-particularly VMware-including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting. * Collaborate with IT teams to strengthen network security and improve overall system performance.
Additional Duties
* Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems. * Document troubleshooting procedures and maintain a robust knowledge base. * Provide targeted user training and support during technology rollouts. * Support cloud‐based applications and remote work environments. * Assist with IT asset inventory management and procurement planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). * Minimum 2 years of helpdesk and technical support experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of Windows, Android OS, Apple iOS, Office 365, and networking fundamentals. * Experience with Active Directory, virtualization technologies, and ticketing systems. * Hands‐on experience with server maintenance, network troubleshooting, and VMware environment administration. * Excellent communication, problem‐solving, and customer service skills. * Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and work independently. * Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, VMware certifications) are a plus.
Preferred Skills
* Demonstrated expertise with Proxmox VE * Demonstrated experience with hybrid Active Directory environments (on‐premises and Azure) * Demonstrated proficiency with VMware, including advanced troubleshooting or solution design * Demonstrated knowledge of LAN segmentation, including VLAN configuration, network isolation, and security best practices * Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, both on‐premises and Exchange Online
