As a Platform Engineer within our Client Engineering team, you will engage collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals including Architects, AI Engineers, Designers, and Business Technology Leaders, all striving to create impactful solutions in real-time. Your Role and Responsibilities In this role, you will provide unique co-creation experiences for our clients to facilitate their transformation journey. You will be involved in defining requirements and making technical decisions that influence business outcomes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to unlock the full potential of our hybrid cloud and AI solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include: Cloud Expertise:
Utilize contemporary hybrid cloud skills such as AI, analytics, DevOps, and security, while gaining deep insights into your specific clients' businesses.
Value Communication:
Articulate and share the unique value offerings of IBM's technology from both technical and commercial perspectives.
Technical Leadership:
Lead client sessions incorporating a wide array of public and hybrid cloud technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
Solution Support:
Act as a hands-on builder during client engagements and provide guidance on architecture solutions that align with platform best practices.
Transition to Deployment:
Ensure a smooth transition by collaborating with deployment teams to facilitate the production deployment of platform assets and information.

This position requires you to be located in one of the following IBM offices: Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Raleigh, NC; San Francisco, CA; or Washington, DC. Be prepared for travel up to 50% annually. Please note, IBM will not provide visa sponsorship for this role. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Ideal candidates will possess a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical degree/experience. Programming:
Familiarity with at least one cloud-native programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Ansible).
Tech Savvy:
Awareness of cloud technologies and industry trends pertinent to business challenges.
Team Player:
Excellent collaborator with a capacity to adapt communication styles.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities that are engaging and persuasive.
In addition, you should be a self-starter, eager to work with clients, and capable of leading projects independently. Highly Desirable Experience deploying solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CNCF, AWS, Azure).
