Network & DevOps Engineering Leader
with enthusiasm for network automation and emerging technologies to help us drive significant transformations. The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is at the forefront of enhancing Capital One's foundational cloud infrastructure, focusing on observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability. What You Will Be Doing: Lead a talented team managing a diverse range of technology projects and developers with expertise in automation, distributed microservices, and back-end systems aimed at automating on-premise and cloud network platforms. Stay ahead of technology trends, continuously experiment and learn new technologies, engage with internal and external tech communities, mentor fellow engineers, and occasionally contribute to coding efforts. Work closely with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions focused on intent-based networking and automation. Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, leverage Container Orchestration services like Docker and ECS, and use configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform, along with a variety of AWS tools. Experience with automation platforms such as Itential is a plus. Engage with on-premise network infrastructure and colocation stakeholders to automate repetitive tasks and discover efficiency opportunities. Lead a software engineering team dedicated to identifying automation opportunities, designing, developing, and deploying innovative solutions to reduce manual effort, streamline infrastructure management, and minimize overhead. Drive inter-team initiatives to automate compliance and control management programs. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering. At least 4 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 6 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience. 4 years of people management experience. Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering. 5+ years of experience in coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, Ruby). 4+ years of experience in infrastructure automation (on-prem and cloud). 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Zabbix). 3+ years with Container orchestration services (Docker, Kubernetes). 3+ years of experience with Agile Development Practices. 3+ years in an SRE environment. The salary range for this role is as follows: McLean, VA: $229,900 - $262,400 Plano, TX: $209,000 - $238,500 Richmond, VA: $209,000 - $238,500 Please note that salaries may vary based on the location and specifics of the offer. This role is eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
