Join us, and lets improve lives together./ppLocation Preference: Ideal candidate will be located in Iowa./ppEssential Functions:/pulliUnder general guidance, creates innovative data science solutions/liliAnalyzes business partners needs and gathers structured and/or unstructured data to create a modeling dataset, including cleaning and pre-processing data/liliDesigns and builds appropriate solutions (e.g. neural network, predictive model, mapping solution, data analysis, and visualizations)/liliDiscovers business insights using statistical analysis, algorithmic processing, data science, machine learning, data mining, and/or reporting visualization techniques as determined through individual analysis of the problem/liliTranslates analytical results into business meaning and presents ideas to business areas to address and resolve their problems/liliGuides business partners through business problem identification and discovery, and potential solutions/liliGathers detailed information regarding specific business issues, needs, business processes impacted, and how the business unit intends to use the tools or solutions developed and translates those to detailed project requirements/liliDevelops documentation throughout the entire analytic life cycle of each project/li/ulpEducation Experience:/pulliBachelors degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or related field and two years of experience in data science OR/liliMasters degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or related field and one year of experience in data science OR/liliBachelors degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or related field and Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA) designation and one year of experience in data science/liliAdditional education may be used to substitute a portion of the experience requirement/liliPrior experience in property and casualty insurance preferred/li/ulpKnowledge, Skills Abilities:/pulliStrong knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques, such as GLMs, decision trees, GBMs, random forests, boosting, bagging, neural networks, further statistical analysis, machine learning, or deep learning techniques/liliStrong knowledge of programming within R, Python, SQL, Hadoop, and other data visualization tools/liliStrong verbal and written communication skills/liliAbility to translate technical ideas into more general terms for business customers/liliStrong analytical, investigation, and problem-solving abilities/li/ulpThe hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either of the following: $77,013 - $106,126 or $84,912 - $117,001. A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range.
