This position of Lead Data Analyst for Internal Audit IT involves collaboration within the IT Internal Audit team, where you will utilize your analytical skills to extract, test, and interpret crucial systems and tools data. The ideal candidate will excel at evaluating system and model performance, performing data analyses to assess the effectiveness of key IT and security controls, and conducting thorough testing of system changes. Proficiency in SQL and Snowflake, along with expertise in data ETL processes, is essential for building metrics and reports that will support internal audit operations. You will be expected to work independently, develop innovative solutions for testing intricate data sets and flows, and produce reliable data extracts and reports to assist the internal audit team with their control testing. Familiarity with IT audit principles and practices applicable to a data-centric environment will be crucial. Key Responsibilities: Data Analysis for IT and Security Control Testing:
Conduct thorough data analysis to evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of essential IT and security controls using proficient SQL coding. Identify potential risk areas and offer actionable recommendations for improvement.
System/Model Change Testing:
Perform detailed tests on system or model changes to ascertain their impacts and compliance with performance standards. Document and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
Independent and Creative Problem-Solving:
Work autonomously to devise and employ innovative methods for testing complex data sets and flows. Actively identify and tackle challenges in data testing and analysis to ensure valid results.
Complex Data Extracts and Reports:
Generate comprehensive data extracts and reports via SQL from various sources, aiding the internal audit team in their control assessments. Translate complex data requests into clear and actionable requirements. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data exports in alignment with audit needs.
ETL Process Testing:
Execute tests on data ETL (extraction, transformation, and load) from upstream production systems into the data repository, and from the data repository into Enterprise Tools. Confirm data completeness and accuracy during the ETL process.
Develop and Improve Metrics and Dashboards:
Design and enhance metrics and dashboards to assess the performance of various organizational systems. Ensure metrics and dashboards provide actionable insights for the Internal Audit team.
What We're Looking For: 4+ years of experience in a data analytics role within technology, consulting, financial institutions, or fintech. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. Strong analytical abilities with excellent SQL, Snowflake, and data visualization skills. Understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity programs, and enterprise technology stacks. Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC): requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, and deployment. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams while working with minimal supervision. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Model Validations and Regulatory Examinations. Familiarity with GitHub and DevOps tools. Programming skills in Python. Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Looker, Superset, or Tableau. Background in financial services or a heavily regulated environment. Awareness of cryptocurrency trends and practices. Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $135,320-$159,200 USD, in addition to bonus eligibility, equity options, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan.
