In this role, you will drive large-scale lift and shift initiatives, moving on-premises systems and workloads to the cloud quickly and efficiently. After initial migration, you will architect and implement strategies to modernize these workloads over time, leveraging cloud-native services and automation to enhance scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness./ppAs part of a global leader in science, technology, and engineering solutions, youll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, advancing our cloud transformation journey and supporting mission-critical objectives./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliLead rapid lift and shift migrations of physical and legacy infrastructure to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations./liliDevelop and execute migration plans, including assessment, planning, and implementation of cloud migration strategies./liliCollaborate with solution architects and design teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant AWS cloud solutions./liliAfter migration, drive modernization efforts by refactoring, rearchitecting, and automating workloads to take advantage of AWS cloud-native services./liliDevelop and maintain tools for provisioning, monitoring, auditing, and de-provisioning AWS infrastructure using Python, Ansible, and other automation tools./liliManage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure technologies using industry-standard tools like Jenkins and GitLab Runners./liliIncorporate FinOps principles into AWS cloud strategies, ensuring cost optimization and operational efficiency./liliMentor and lead junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth./li/ulh3Required Skills/Experience/h3ulli***Must be a U.S. Citizen***/lili10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems administration, with a strong focus on AWS technologies./liliProven experience leading lift and shift migrations and subsequent modernization of workloads in AWS./liliIn-depth knowledge of AWS Security, Network Controls, and FedRAMP compliance requirements./liliStrong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or AWS CDK./liliProficiency in configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet./liliExpertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShell for infrastructure automation./liliAWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate (required)./liliAt least one AWS Specialty or Professional certification (required), such as:/liulliAWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional/liliAWS Certified Security Specialty/liliAWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty/liliAWS Certified Database Specialty/li/ul/ulh3Preferred Skills/Experience/h3ulliMultiple AWS Specialty or Professional certifications (preferred), such as those listed above./liliExperience engineering and deploying public sector solutions./liliExpertise with AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, EKS, Lambda, Aurora Serverless DB, and AWS Batch./liliExperience incorporating FinOps principles into AWS cloud strategies./li/ulh3Special Requirements/h3ulliThree years of continuous U.S. residency for government security credential./liliAbility to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation for government facility access./liliExperience and/or education in lieu of these qualifications may be considered./lili***Must be a U.S. Citizen***/li/ulh3Benefits/h3ulliCompetitive benefits: 401K with match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, ADD, flexible spending, disability, paid time off, flexible schedule./liliCareer advancement through professional training and development./liliBenefits may be aligned with partner companies for government contracting./liliMore details: a rel=noopener noreferrer href=https://careers.kbr.com/us/en/kbr-benefits target=_blankKBR Benefits/a/li/ulpReady to join KBR and develop your career in cloud engineering while contributing to innovative and impactful projects?
