The Data Scientist I will be responsible for supporting data-driven analysis and decision-making tools for the Commander, Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) N6 Directorate, particularly within the Command Data Office (CDO)./ppResponsibilities: This entry-level data science role supports the development of analytical tools and workflows that power mission decision-making across the Navy Information Warfare enterprise. The candidate will perform data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization to deliver operational insights aligned with NAVIFORs data strategy. This is a hybrid position based in Suffolk, VA, with limited travel anticipated./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliPerform analysis and modeling of large, complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights/liliSupport the development of dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools using modern BI platforms/liliAssist in the integration of structured and unstructured data sources to support analytics workflows/liliConduct data profiling, cleaning, transformation, and normalization activities/liliApply machine learning and statistical analysis techniques to support mission-aligned use cases/liliSupport the development of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and data structures for reporting/liliCollaborate with engineering and analytics teams to turn analytical insights into production-ready tools/liliContribute to the implementation of the NAVIFOR data strategy across enterprise platforms/li/ulh3Qualifications:/h3pEducation: Bachelor of Science in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline/ppExperience: Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, databases, visualization, and applied coding/ppClearance: Active Secret Clearance required/ppTechnical Skills:/pulliFamiliarity with general-purpose analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Python, R, Power BI, Tableau)/liliHands-on experience with SQL databases and data prep pipelines/liliExperience with Jupyter, Jama, or related Navy tools preferred/li/ulpThe Candidate must be:/pulliMust be technically savvy and possess excellent communication skills/liliMust have effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills/liliMust be self-motivated and able to deliver with minimal supervision/liliProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/li/ulpThis position is fast paced and high demand that is a hybrid position (onsite and remote) in Suffolk, VA. Limited to no travel is anticipated./ppPay Range: Base pay is $105,000-$115,000, subject to skill level, qualifications, and location.
