Über
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Network Engineer to provide Tier 3 support and engineering expertise for the design, testing, and implementation of the Next Generation Network. This position will be located in Fairfax, VA, and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
Provides Tier 3 support and engineering expertise for the design, testing, and implementation of the Next Generation Network.
Installs, configures, and troubleshoots diverse network architectures and devices.
Manages and maintains SD-WAN, DMVPN, Layer 2/3, and wireless networks.
Implements network security measures, including access control models and firewalls.
Provides operational support for data centers.
Manages network applications on client workstations.
Optimizes VPN and networks.
Implements server load balancing, WAN optimization, and network access security.
Requires administering network (Cisco ACI), compute (Cisco UCS), and virtualization (VMware, UCS Director) environments.
Performs network diagnostics and analysis.
Troubleshoots production outages with service providers.
Terminates fiber and network cables.
Independently designs, writes, and updates system documentation and network diagrams.
Qualifications
High School with 10+ years network engineering (or commensurate experience)
5+ years of hands-on enterprise network experience
Clearance Required: Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold a DEA suitability
Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP)
Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various network architectures
Knowledge of the inner workings of the major network routing protocols, including dynamic routing
Experience with a variety of firewalls
Solid background in network administration and architecture
Knowledge of building, developing, and maintaining SD-WAN environments
Familiarity with access control models and network security
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
Solid understanding of network operating systems (Aruba, Juniper, Cisco)
Solid understanding of VPN
Sharp troubleshooting skills
Experience terminating fiber and network cables
Ability to work independently
Experience designing, writing, and updating both system documentation and network diagrams

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range
USD $148,000.00 - USD $173,000.00 /Yr.
