As a Data Analyst I on our Mission Data & Insights team, you will play a vital role in processing large datasets and providing actionable insights to enhance program effectiveness and veteran well-being. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the creation and implementation of innovative data collection methods.
Gather, clean, and validate data from various sources, ensuring its integrity and accuracy.
Maintain updated databases and systems for accurate data access.
Perform basic statistical analyses under the guidance of senior team members and help identify key trends.
Create reports, charts, and visualizations to present findings clearly and support decision-making processes.
Prepare preliminary analysis reports, documenting effective methodologies used.
Conduct quality assurance checks on all data deliverables for consistency.
Archive data properly for future accessibility and compliance.
Assist in creating evaluation plans, including participating in surveys and focus groups.
Help prepare evaluation reports for stakeholders both internally and externally.
Collaborate with departments to support data-driven projects and initiatives.
Contribute data insights in team meetings and projects, providing support to senior analysts.
Engage in mandatory training sessions and departmental huddles to enhance your skills.
Complete other related responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Basic understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
Familiarity with statistical software (R, SAS, etc.) and a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative work ethic.
Eagerness to learn and grow in data analytics while accepting constructive feedback.
Commitment to data confidentiality and integrity.
High energy level and willingness to take initiative.
Strong ethical standards and a mission-driven mindset.
Experience: Two years of experience in data analysis or evaluation.
Hands-on experience with large datasets using tools like Excel, R, or Python.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics or data science. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Certifications: Ability to obtain ASIST Certification within one year of hire.
