Job Description This position is based onsite in Nashville, TN Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), where we deliver impactful applications for leading enterprises globally. Our cloud services provide unmatched hyper-scale, multi-tenant solutions across over 50 regions. OCI is evolving, expanding our mission beyond traditional public cloud, embracing dedicated, hybrid and multi-cloud, edge computing, and much more. In our Technical Strategy and Oversight (TSO) organization, we aim to enhance customer choice, transparency, and overall value in cloud infrastructure. We are embarking on innovative initiatives by developing new platforms and high-performance frameworks to support OCI developers, including container runtimes for our demanding services. We're pioneering solutions for remote persistent storage that rival local nVME drives and establishing standards for significant performance improvements across OCI data planes. Our focus is on engineering efficiency through the creation of robust, high-performance systems that will enhance our core cloud services. We are forming a new OCI Performance team, and we are looking for an engineering leader who can build the team from the ground up. You will develop new KPIs for internal service teams to drive efficiency and effectiveness, creating new services and tools to deliver OCI's next-generation cloud offerings across various environments. If you have built and managed high-scale cloud infrastructure services and understand how to enhance technology while expanding the business, we want to hear from you. Your experience should include managing distributed, multinational teams while overseeing the design, execution, and operational aspects of prominent public cloud services. You should be technically adept, having worked on highly available, scalable, and resilient services, balancing feature delivery with continuous improvements. You thrive in motivating teams toward enhancing both processes and services, adeptly wearing the hats of an engineering leader, product owner, and project manager to maximize daily achievements. Responsibilities: Define the technical, product, operational, and organizational strategy for a public cloud service. Lead a diverse, distributed team. Cultivate an environment of accountability, integrity, and high professional standards. Communicate effectively across the organization, from engineers to executive management. Stay informed about vulnerabilities affecting our cloud services and proactively mitigate risks. Guide and mentor teams through architecture and security reviews. Drive implementation and verification of security features to bolster platform security. Establish methodologies for continuous improvement in the engineering organization through mentorship and coaching. Deliver impactful results. Qualifications: Minimum of 3+ years in a senior management role. 5+ years of experience with distributed systems or cloud services. BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Strong business acumen and communication skills. Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities. Experience with Performance Benchmarking and Optimization tools and services. Solid understanding of core cloud infrastructure, including compute, virtual networking, and storage. Strong distributed systems architecture and design experience. Disclaimer: Note regarding certain US customer-facing roles:
Compliance with applicable immunization and occupational health mandates may be required. The stated salary range for this role in the US is from $118,300 to $251,600 per annum. Candidates may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and compensation deferrals. Compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and location.
