Join Our Dynamic Team! As an integral part of our Knowledge Management and Innovation team, the Manager of Data Analytics plays a pivotal role in delivering data-driven legal solutions and insights for our internal and external clients. You will be responsible for overseeing the firm's data visualization platforms, reporting tools, and advanced analytics environment, while also providing hands-on support for project workflows and analysis when necessary. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Strategy and Leadership:
Collaborate with the Director of Data Analytics and Strategy to create and implement the firm's data analytics roadmap, aligning with broader business objectives and client service standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop a talented team of data analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Work closely with clients, attorneys, and stakeholders to pinpoint data-driven opportunities.
Partner with various departments to analyze data and devise solutions that further the firm's operational goals.
Identify and support the development of client-facing solutions with potential for productization.
Effectively communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
Data Management and Analysis:
Train end-users in data literacy, dashboard usage, and self-service analytics.
Produce regular and ad hoc reports, visualizations, and presentations for firm leadership and clients.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic planning.
Collaborate with Accounting, IT, and other departments to implement data projects.
Technical Expertise:
Transform business requirements into data analytic challenges and solutions.
Design data preparation processes and apply appropriate analytic methodologies.
Utilize advanced statistical methods, machine learning, and natural language processing as needed.
Conduct thorough explanatory data analyses and articulate findings to stakeholders.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Engage in other projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field preferred. Juris Doctor or Master's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or engineering is a plus. Experience: 5+ years of experience in a law firm or legal operations setting. Minimum of 2 years in a data analytics role. Preferred: Lean, Lean Six Sigma, PMP or similar certifications desirable. Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively. Proven leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with detailed information. Adept at building collaborative relationships and advocating for departmental needs. Competence in establishing structures where they may be lacking. Strong analytical and business analysis skills to approach information systematically. Experience with enterprise data visualization tools (e.g., MS Power BI, Tableau) and a solid grasp of data design best practices. Background in advanced analytics and data science methodologies. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is based in an office setting, requiring the use of standard office equipment. This role involves sitting for extended periods, with some walking and standing required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds; primarily sedentary work.
