As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern, you'll design, build, and deploy machine learning models and systems, collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to transform business needs into impactful ML solutions. You'll have the opportunity to work on scalable ML pipelines, infrastructure, and actively experiment with cutting-edge algorithms to drive user experience and operational efficiency. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an advanced degree program (Master's or PhD) in fields such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Cognitive Science.
Experience in core machine learning areas, including: Foundational Science:
Practical experience in supervised and/or unsupervised ML, data science methods, ML operations, and familiarity with Large Language Models or Reinforcement Learning. Software Engineering:
Comfortable with software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and code reviews. End-to-End Systems:
Knowledge of end-to-end machine learning pipelines (e.g., training or production deployment) and challenges such as model explainability.
Demonstrated experience with programming and machine learning through projects, coursework, or research.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or Spark.
Familiarity with ML frameworks and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn.
A curious, self-motivated mindset, eager to tackle open-ended challenges at Netflix.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must intend to return to your degree program following the internship.

Internship Program Overview: This paid internship will last a minimum of 12 weeks, with start dates available in January 2026 (Winter), or May or June 2026 (Summer) to accommodate different school calendars. Summer internships will be primarily located at our headquarters in Los Gatos, CA, with limited options available in Los Angeles or New York, depending on the team. This program is geared towards students who will continue their education for at least one semester following the internship. While conversion or return offers depend on business needs, they are not guaranteed. At Netflix, we take the time to ensure fair compensation based on a variety of factors and market indicators.
