We are seeking a dedicated
Project Engineer (PE)
to join our team and help champion our mission that

In this role, you'll support the planning, design, and delivery of
municipal civil engineering projects
, as well as contribute to a variety of
water resources initiatives
that positively impact the communities we serve.

As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop infrastructure solutions, apply sound engineering principles, and contribute to projects that enhance public safety, environmental resilience, and community well‑being.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Responsible for the management planning, scheduling and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel, both design and construction
  • Work closely with Project Managers in understanding client needs and expectations
  • Review and/or prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies
  • Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports
  • Familiar with local permitting requirements such as NCDOT, NCDEQ, USACE, and other applicable local permitting regulations
  • Provides technical advice regarding design, construction or modification and repairs to clients, contractors and other staff members
  • May assist with business development activities (client needs, research, proposals, etc.)
  • Coordinate construction administration and monitor documentation requirements with field staff

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina
  • 4+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including experience working with municipal infrastructure preferred
  • Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency
  • Knowledge of NCDOT requirements
  • Possess a valid drivers license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required
