Lateral Associate - Litigation

Location: Houston, Texas, United States

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement creative legal strategies for complex litigation cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation efforts.
  • Draft, review, and file litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Engage in discovery processes, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trial proceedings.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their legal needs and objectives.
  • Work alongside senior partners and other associates to strategize case handling.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and court rulings.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide updates on case progress.
  • Contribute to the growth and reputation of the firm through high-quality legal work.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Jurist Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas or eligible for admission.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative culture.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and services.
Desired Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years and maximum of 6 years of litigation experience in a reputable law firm.
  • Demonstrated track record of handling high-stakes litigation matters.
  • Experience in various areas of litigation, including commercial disputes, employment law, or intellectual property.
  • Proven success in managing cases from inception through to trial.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
Salary & Benefits:
  • Annual salary ranging from $310,000 to $390,000, commensurate with experience.
