Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) US Federal Professional Services team, where we partner with the US Intelligence Community and other public sector entities to fulfill their mission objectives through Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI innovations. Our projects span various media types including text, image, video, and audio, employing both traditional ML techniques and state-of-the-art generative models such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and advanced AI functionalities tailored to meet unique mission requirements. We are on the lookout for experienced data scientists who are well-versed in both traditional and generative AI to assist our customers in harnessing their data effectively and developing trustworthy solutions for production deployment. In this role, you will closely collaborate with clients to comprehend their data challenges and requirements, crafting customized solutions that suit their specific use cases. We require individuals with extensive experience in developing models from diverse data sources and creating scalable, data-intensive applications. Strong business acumen and communication skills are essential to engage effectively with stakeholders, drive important business inquiries, and translate needs into actionable results. You will also mentor engineers by sharing industry best practices and driving innovation in data science and AI. This position mandates the candidate to possess and maintain an active TS/SCI Security Clearance. Additionally, it requires opting into a corresponding clearance for each government agency for which AWS work is conducted. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate AI algorithms for pressing real-world challenges. Engage directly with customers to grasp their business problems, assist in implementing AI solutions, and conduct briefings and deep dives to guide customers on adoption patterns and paths to production. Create and present best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations tailored for technical, business, and executive audiences. Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help shape product strategies. This position may require up to 25% local travel. About Us: Why choose AWS? Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 3+ years of experience in building models for business applications. Expertise in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, and machine learning techniques. Proficiency in Python and practical experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch). Must currently hold an active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI. Preferred Qualifications: Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field. Experience with AWS services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, or EC2. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in practical settings. Experience in developing models using deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX. Knowledge of applications utilizing Generative AI. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer. AWS also provides comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Colorado: $136,000 - $184,000 annually National: $125,500 - $212,800 annually
