A fast growing, Series B startup in the Dev Tooling space is looking to bring on a Software Engineering Manager to their leadership team. The company is already profitable and extremely reputable in the market. They're partnered with top firms like OpenAI, Okta, Etsy, Lyft, Github, IBM, Zillow, among others.
They have complex schemafirst, contractdriven platforms used for building reliable distributed systems. This is an integrated suite of products that simplifies how teams design, maintain, and evolve APIs and data contracts across large, complex architectures.
This person will oversee their newest product that they launched last year - it has already grown 3x. The team consists on 10 Senior + Staff level engineers, and this person will manage the team, product & roadmap - reporting into the VP of Engineering.
Requirements: -10+ years of software engineering experience- 3+ years managing a team -A background moving up into Staff, Lead, Principal positions as a high level IC - then stepping into a people management function -Experience building out complex and distributed systems on the backend -Experience managing a team - prioritizing work, owning the roadmap, code reviews, architecture + design decisions, retention, etc. -Experience owning a product. This person will partner heavily with the CEO and VP on how to improve the product as a whole, what new features to prioritize, how to scale, etc. -They use Go - but open on programming background -Strong communication skills & high energy - ability to get the team excited and bought into the product direction
