Catawba County Social Services is recruiting an Office Support Specialist to provide front-line administrative, customer service, and clinical support for the Family Net program. This part-time position is housed at the front desk of the Family Services Center and serves as a key point of contact for clients, clinicians, and the public.
The Office Support Specialist supports daily operations by greeting clients, managing appointments, assisting with medical records and billing processes, and ensuring accurate data entry within electronic health records. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
This position is part-time, working 20 hours per week, and receives benefits (prorated at 50%).
Responsibilities- Provide front desk coverage by greeting clients and visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries appropriately
- Check clients in and out for appointments and complete reminder calls and daily appointment logs
- Assist with scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and prescription refill coordination
- Perform accurate data entry, scanning, and documentation management within electronic health records
- Support billing and reimbursement processes for Medicaid and third-party insurers
- Process medical record releases and maintain client demographic and clinical information
- Generate appointment reports, distribute incoming mail, and assist with general administrative support
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in any field; OR
- Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field; OR
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and 1 year of office or clerical experience
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to accurately enter and maintain information in electronic health records
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Experience with scanning, filing, and general clerical functions
- Position is considered light work, lifting up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
