Über

FULL TIME position available in a friendly Optometric Practice.

Candidate must be energetic, able to multi-task and provide excellent patient experience through exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Front Desk

  • Answering phones, scheduling appointments, computer work and filing, checking messages and communicating with patients through instant messaging/emails.
  • Assist in the sales and dispensing of eyewear
  • Adjustments, repairs, prescription verification
  • Contact lens training
  • General optical duties
  • Listen, analyze and resolve patient concerns
  • Data entry, insurance benefit verification, claim submission
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize throughout the day
  • Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Check-in and check-out patients, ensuring accuracy of information
  • Handle patients questions or concerns with empathy and resolve issues promptly
  • Process payments and maintain accurate records using the POS system
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
  • Be able to understand copays, deductibles, insurance coverage with patient.
  • Explain special services the office offers to patients.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and promotions
  • Help with social media posts

Other office duties

  • Follow-up on pharmacy prescription requests/prior authorizations
  • Check expiration date and inventory of medicines and replace as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory and order diagnostic medications and supplies.
  • Assist with maintenance of clinical examination equipment and with ordering of supplies.
  • Inspect instruments periodically for damage, send for repair, and request a replacement as necessary.
  • Open and close exam lanes daily, ensuring that equipment is wiped down in an appropriate manner, battery powered instruments are seated properly in re-charge wells, slit lamps and projectors are switched off under covers.
  • Willingness to assist in other office duties as needed

Patient care

  • Perform pre-exam testing and diagnostic testing on patients.
  • Effectively record patient information and use EMR system.
  • Assist with fitting of contact lenses and instruct patients in care and insertion of lenses.

Qualities

  • Willingness to assist in other office duties as needed.
  • Able to work independently and yet cooperatively with team, good communicator, friendly and highly motivated.
  • Previous experience in sales or customer service roles preferred
  • Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Spanish is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Ophthalmology/Optometry: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:
