FT Quality Inspector - (3rd shift) 11:45pm-8:00 am
We are looking for a responsible and motivated Quality Inspector to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our company. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. Knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential. The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment that meet our customer's high standards. We are an ESOP company that works on a One Team One Mission concept and culture.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
- Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
- Detect defects, its source and assist in corrective action investigations
- Coordinate non-conforming material and rework processes with QA Inspectors along with production personnel
- Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
- Use measuring tools such as calipers and various gauges to ensure correct dimensions
- Assist in activities they may require support for continuous improvement processes
- Maintain documentation control per ISO-9001 requirements
- Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
- Develop and maintain statistical data, control charts and product specifications
- Prepare specialized documents such as work instructions and quality alerts
- Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn't meet requirements
- Maintain work area and test samples in a clean and orderly fashion
- Prepare and submit reports to the Quality Manager
- All other reasonable duties as required by the Quality Manager.
Skills
- At least 1-2 years proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Detailed knowledge of AQL, inspection plans and incoming inspection raw materials.
- Familiarity with quality measurement tools.
- Adept in the use and maintenance of the equipment in the Metrology Lab including CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
- Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
- Knowledge of quality control standards is a strong plus (ISO 9000 etc.)
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- High School diploma or equivalent.
