As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader driving the architecture, strategy, and execution of next-generation workplace experiences. You will lead the design and development of AI-integrated platforms that unify mobile and web UX, enabling seamless, personalized, and context-aware interactions across all employee touchpoints.  You will collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define and deliver solutions that scale across Microsoft's global footprint, while mentoring and guiding senior engineers to achieve technical excellence.

This position is based at the Redmond campus with 3 days per week work in the office and 2 days per week work from home. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the technical vision for intelligent workplace platforms that span mobile, web, and physical environments.
  • Architect and develop scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise services using modern frameworks and cloud technologies.
  • Lead the integration of AI/ML capabilities into user-facing applications to enable predictive, adaptive, and personalized experiences.
  • Champion a unified cross-surface UX strategy, ensuring consistent and intuitive interactions across mobile and web platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features that enhance employee productivity and workplace accessibility.
  • Analyze telemetry, environmental data, and user behavior to inform design decisions and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Mentor and grow engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Microsoft Digital and product leadership to align technical strategies with business goals.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and ReactJS/AngularJS.
    • OR equivalent experience.
