Nutanix Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Nutanix Engineer to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is fully onsite and will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and evolving our Nutanix-based environment. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Nutanix core technologies, virtualization platforms, and infrastructure migrations, with database experience—particularly Oracle—being a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support Nutanix core infrastructure (AOS, Prism, AHV).
• Manage and optimize virtualized environments, including VMware to Nutanix migrations.
• Plan and execute VMware workload migrations with minimal downtime and risk.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Support and collaborate with database teams on infrastructure needs, including Oracle databases.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management for Nutanix platforms.
• Ensure high availability, data protection, and disaster recovery best practices.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support business-critical applications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Nutanix Core (AOS, Prism, AHV).
• Experience supporting database environments (Oracle experience strongly preferred).
• Proven experience with VMware migration projects.
• Strong understanding of virtualization, storage, and compute infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting performance, capacity, and availability issues.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nutanix certifications (NCA, NCP, or higher).
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Pay: $135, $150,000.00 per year
