About The Role
The Senior Project Designer at TCA Architects is a pivotal role within the Oakland studio, focused on leading design initiatives for complex multi-family, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. This individual will serve as a key contributor to conceptual and detailed design processes, transforming ideas into tangible architectural solutions. The Senior Project Designer will collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and firm leadership to develop innovative concepts that align with project goals, regulatory standards, and community needs. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, with California licensure or progress toward licensure preferred. Candidates should have between 6 to 10 years of professional experience in architecture, including 3 to 5 years focused on multi-family mid-rise design within the United States. Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Suite, and Enscape is essential for success in this role. A strong portfolio showcasing recent work in multi-family, hospitality, and mixed-use projects is required for consideration. Candidates must demonstrate excellent design and form-giving skills, a comprehensive understanding of California Building Code and construction types, and the ability to develop concepts from yield to schematic design. Effective verbal and written communication skills are critical, as the role involves presenting ideas clearly to clients, team members, and firm leadership.

Responsibilities
The Senior Project Designer will be responsible for leading the design process from conceptualization through construction documentation. Key responsibilities include developing innovative architectural concepts that meet project requirements and client expectations, utilizing advanced skills in SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Suite to produce detailed design models and presentations. The role involves collaborating with project teams to generate design solutions for various housing types and building typologies, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. The candidate will also be tasked with preparing and presenting design proposals to clients and internal stakeholders, facilitating design reviews, and incorporating feedback effectively. Additionally, the Senior Project Designer will mentor junior staff, contribute to firm-wide design standards, and stay current with industry trends and technological advancements to enhance project quality and efficiency.
