Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. In this rewarding role, you will assist clients in their daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your contributions will make a significant difference in their lives while promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support individuals with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their needs are met.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs.
- Monitor and document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments or community activities as needed.
- Assist with mobility support, including lifting or transferring clients safely.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's overall well-being.
Qualifications
- DDA trainings is compulsory.
- CMT
- First Aid and CPR
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Background in nursing home care or hospice care is a plus.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid is highly desirable.
- Ability to prepare meals and cook for clients with varying dietary needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is beneficial.
- A degree or coursework in social work or related fields is an advantage but not required.
- Must be able to lift clients safely as needed and assist with mobility challenges.
