Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within a clinical setting. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and various healthcare practices, including experience in both outpatient and inpatient environments.

Duties

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Perform intake procedures, including taking vital signs and documenting patient history.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
• Utilize EHR systems to manage patient information efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct basic life support measures when necessary and respond to emergencies in the clinic or hospital setting.
• Support orthopedic practice by preparing patients for examinations.
• Assist with ICD coding for billing purposes and ensure compliance with medical regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment to promote patient safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care for patients- office/surgical settings.
• Prior authorization submissions.

Skills

• Proficient in medical administrative support tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and healthcare professionals.
