  • RMA Assistance:**Troubleshooting and repairing income RMA equipment from field failures. -
  • Spare Parts:**Working with the parts team to assist with building needed spare parts sold to existing customers. -
  • Travel:**All Technical Services and Support Technicians are required to travel up to an average of 50% of the year. -
  • Installation and assembly of automated welding systems:**Install, assemble, and set up new automated welding systems by following technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. -
  • Maintenance and repair of automated welding systems:**Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning properly at customer locations. -
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis of automated welding systems:**Use diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, to test system functionality, identify errors, and pinpoint the root cause of failures. -
  • Prototyping and design:**Assist engineers in the design and development process by building prototypes or creating modified circuitry for existing equipment. -
  • Documentation and reporting:**Record all work performed, including installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Draft technical reports and user manuals to describe the operation and characteristics of systems. -
  • Customer service:**Communicate with customers and collaborate with engineering staff to explain technical problems and provide progress updates. This also includes taking phone calls and answering emails from customers with technical issues and process questions. -
  • Safety compliance:**Adhere to all health, safety, and industry regulations and standards. **Preferred Skills:** **Technical skills** -
  • Circuit knowledge:**Deep understanding of electrical theory and both analog and digital circuits. -
  • Diagnostic tools:**Proficiency with a range of test equipment, including oscilloscopes and multimeters. -
  • Soldering:**Expertise in soldering and rework techniques for printed circuit boards (PCBs). -
  • Schematics and mechanical prints:**The ability to read and interpret complex technical diagrams and engineering instructions. **Soft skills** -
  • Problem-solving:**Strong analytical skills for diagnosing issues and devising effective solutions. -
  • Communication:**Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and customers. -
  • Attention to detail:**Meticulous precision is crucial for assembling, testing, and repairing electronic equipment. -
  • Adaptability:**The willingness and ability to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies is essential in this evolving field. **Work environment and physical demands** -
  • Diverse settings:**Technicians may work in a variety of locations, including workshops, labs, and manufacturing facilities, as well as traveling to customer sites. -
  • Physical requirements:**The job may involve standing for long periods and lifting objects of 50 lbs. or more on occasion. -
  • Work schedule:**The work schedule is full-time with some weekend travel required and occasional overtime. **Preferred Technical Skills and Education:**
  • Minimum of a 2-year degree in electronics or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years field experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems
  • Knowledge of PC based computers
  • Experience understanding and writing PLC code
  • Above average mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand tools.
