We are hiring an Order Picker for our busy distribution center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As an Order Picker, you will play a vital role in our logistics network, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently. Your primary responsibilities will involve moving throughout the warehouse to retrieve specified items from shelves and preparing them for the next stage of the shipping process. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately select products from warehouse storage locations according to pick lists or electronic devices.
- Operate material handling equipment as required (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Verify product information against order details.
- Package items securely for shipment, ensuring product protection.
- Report any discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, promoting safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and stock checks.
- Strive to meet or exceed individual and team productivity goals.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and using all required PPE.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
