We are looking for a diligent and versatile Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our busy logistics hub in Baltimore, Maryland. This dual-focused role is critical for managing the efficient flow of goods into and out of our facility. You will be responsible for both processing incoming shipments, verifying contents against documentation, and preparing outgoing orders for dispatch. Accuracy, speed, and organization are key to success in this position. Your duties will include unloading trucks, inspecting goods for damage, accurately recording received and shipped items in our system, and coordinating with carriers for pickups and deliveries. A comprehensive understanding of logistics and warehouse operations is essential. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times. This role involves regular physical activity, including lifting and moving packages, often up to 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods. You will work closely with other warehouse associates, including material handlers and inventory control specialists, to ensure seamless operations. Previous experience in a shipping or receiving role is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect received goods for damage and verify against purchase orders/invoices.
- Accurately document all received items into the warehouse management system.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and staging.
- Coordinate with carriers for shipment pickups and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all outbound orders are accurate and processed efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both receiving and shipping areas.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status.
