We are seeking a diligent and energetic Order Picker to join our dynamic warehouse team in Washington, D.C. This role is crucial for the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, playing a key part in our overall logistics operations. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets, ensuring that the correct products and quantities are selected. Your attention to detail and efficiency will directly impact customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be reliable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining a safe workplace, including the proper use of PPE. Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret order tickets or use scanning equipment to identify items to be picked.
- Locate and retrieve specified products from warehouse shelves and storage areas.
- Verify the accuracy of picked items against the order to ensure correct product and quantity.
- Transport picked items to the packing or staging area using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles are clear and products are stored properly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Meet or exceed established productivity and accuracy targets for order picking.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or damaged products encountered during the picking process.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and assist with stocktaking.
- Operate pallet jacks and other manual material handling equipment safely.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse/logistics role is highly desirable.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent bending and reaching.
- Capacity for regular lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and wearing required PPE.
