We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is vital to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and ensuring all packages meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining efficient logistics operations. Understanding and adhering to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, is crucial. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs forms.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders and packing lists.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight carriers) to schedule pickups and manage logistics.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled, sealed, and prepared for transit according to carrier requirements.
- Operate shipping department equipment such as pallet jacks, tape machines, and label printers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping area, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, carriers, and customers regarding shipment status and any issues.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed during peak periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, email).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with shipping software and common carrier procedures is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
