We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is the linchpin of our warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all inbound and outbound shipments. You will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with carriers to facilitate smooth logistics. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment, including the correct utilization of PPE. Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming freight, verify quantities and quality against shipping documents, and note any discrepancies or damages.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage and compliance with shipping regulations.
- Accurately record all received and shipped goods into the inventory management system.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including selecting appropriate packaging, labeling, and staging for pickup.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed to move materials.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping and receiving area, ensuring easy access and safe passage.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the consistent use of required PPE.
