Job Summary:
Join our growing logistics team as a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Richmond, Virginia. This vital role ensures the seamless flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, inspecting them for damage, and verifying contents against purchase orders. Concurrently, you will prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are correctly picked, packed, and labeled for timely delivery. A strong commitment to Safety and meticulous attention to detail are essential for success in this position. You will be working in a dynamic environment where efficiency and accuracy are paramount. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting of boxes and merchandise. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory to ensure your well-being. You will operate pallet jacks and potentially other material handling equipment to move goods. Excellent communication skills are needed to coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments to resolve any shipping or receiving discrepancies. Understanding of basic logistics principles and warehouse operations is beneficial. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, have a strong work ethic, and are eager to contribute to a positive team environment. Previous experience in a warehouse setting, particularly in shipping and receiving, is preferred. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against documentation.
  • Inspect all incoming and outgoing goods for damage or discrepancies.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and label outgoing orders.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving and shipping area.
  • Update inventory records in the warehouse management system.
  • Coordinate with carriers and drivers for pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse role is a plus.
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
