We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Worker for our busy facility in Chicago, Illinois. This role is fundamental to our daily operations, encompassing a wide range of warehouse activities. You will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing goods, maintaining inventory, organizing storage areas, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of the warehouse. A strong understanding of logistics and a dedication to maintaining a safe working environment are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect shipments.
- Sort, stock, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and pack orders accurately for shipment.
- Operate manual and powered equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through regular checks and data entry.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles are clear and storage areas are tidy.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Support the logistics team in meeting operational deadlines and customer demands.
- Perform general labor tasks as needed to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or general labor role is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn and perform various warehouse duties.
