What You’ll Be Doing:- Conducting analysis and design of complex structures in line with Eurocodes, British Standards, and BAE standards to support submarine construction.
- Applying your expertise in regulations that extend beyond BAE Systems, including LOLER, Codes of Compliance, Weld Specifications, and Geometric Tolerance.
- Utilizing computer-based analytical methods, including finite element analysis, CAD modeling, and interpreting engineering schematics (Abaqus, S-Frame).
- Providing support for the manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installation of submarine structures, modules, and components.
- Thriving in a fast-paced environment by leveraging your knowledge of facility and site constraints related to shipping, handling, alignment, and installation of hull units and large equipment.
- Assisting in the development of concept drawings, layouts, and other technical deliverables, ensuring alignment with project schedules, targets, and budget constraints.
Essential:
- Engineering Degree (BEng/MEng or equivalent) or HND with extensive experience in Civil/Mechanical/Structural engineering.
- Experience in Hand Analysis and Design Techniques, including report writing.
- Understanding of Eurocodes and British Standards.
- Strong grasp of mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, and knowledge of lifting handling and LOLER.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a production environment, particularly in marine production.
- Working knowledge of ABAQUS, S-Frame, MathCAD, and Excel.

The Production Engineering Department Team:As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team that includes both designers and engineers. You’ll play a crucial role in a rapidly growing team on a new program, conducting engineering assessments to support the build process. Collaborating closely with the design team, you will contribute to the development of equipment and provide operational and production support for the delivery of safety-critical systems. Relocation support is available for all submarine roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
