Join our team as a Senior NOC Network Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical network infrastructure./ppOpportunity: VSO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior NOC Network Engineer (Tier 3) to join our team in Lorton, Virginia. This role is perfect for individuals with advanced network operations expertise, capable of handling high-level troubleshooting and leading network improvement initiatives./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliServe as the escalation point for complex network issues from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support./liliLead the diagnosis and resolution of critical network incidents to minimize downtime./liliConduct deep-dive network performance analysis and proactively identify areas for optimization./liliDesign, implement, and maintain network configurations, upgrades, and solutions./liliCollaborate with network architects and other teams on network design and capacity planning./liliOversee the integration of new network technologies and solutions into existing infrastructure./liliProvide mentorship and technical guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 NOC personnel./liliEnsure network security standards are adhered to and contribute to the development of security policies./liliMaintain up-to-date documentation on network architecture, configurations, and processes./liliParticipate in on-call rotations and respond to network emergencies as needed./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliBachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)./lili5+ years of experience in network operations, engineering, or a similar role./liliExpert-level understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, and VPNs./liliHands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and/or other enterprise network equipment./liliProficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG)./liliStrong knowledge of network security principles, including firewall management, IDS/IPS, and access control./liliProven ability to lead incident response and troubleshoot complex network issues./liliExperience with cloud networking concepts, such as AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments, is a plus./liliIndustry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable./li/ulh3Requirements/h3ulliMust be within driving distance of Lorton, VA, or willing to relocate (Relocation Assistance Package Available)./liliMust be willing to work onsite./liliMust have an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance/liliMust be willing to work non-standard hours, including on-call duties./liliMust meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)./li/ulh3What is Important to Us/h3ulliYou are an excellent communicator in writing and speaking./liliYou have the ability to work independently but also value teamwork./liliYour problem-solving skills are excellent./liliYou are looking for a job where performance appraisals occur regularly, and you look forward to advancing your career./liliYou seek a community of virtue-centered co-workers and clients./li/ulh3What We Offer You/h3pAs part of the VSO company, you will be part of a virtue-centered team who value their work and teammates.
