The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a dynamic Journeyman Network Engineer to support cloud modernization initiatives for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber, and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in the Alexandria, VA area. This role is part of a high-impact program focused on delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions that enable operational agility and resilience across the USCG enterprise. As a network engineer, you will have experience designing, securing and operating cloud-based network architecture, with hands-on expertise in F5, Versa Networks SD-WAN and security solutions. This role is essential to ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Youll work closely with cloud engineers, cybersecurity analysts, and program leadership to drive continuous improvement and deliver value to the mission./ppPrimary tasks include:/pulliDesign, implement, and maintain secure cloud network architectures in AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments/liliIntegrate cloud networks with on-premises DoD infrastructure using VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and SD-WAN/liliImplement network segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and policy-based access controls/liliAutomate network provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible/liliMonitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and packet capture utilities/liliEnsure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks including DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53, and RMF/liliCollaborate with cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and application teams to support secure mission delivery/liliMaintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures/liliPromote continuous improvement through feedback loops and process refinement/liliEnsure alignment with USCG mission priorities and Leidos delivery standards/li/ulpBasic Qualifications:/pulliBachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business) 4+ years of experience in cloud network infrastructure roles./liliHands-on experience with Versa Networks SD-WAN and security platforms/liliExperience configuring and managing F5 BIG-IP LTM, GTM, and ASM modules/liliProficiency in AWS and/or Azure networking services (VPCs, VNets, Transit Gateway, NSGs, Route Tables)/liliStrong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, NAT, and VPN technologies/liliFamiliarity with Zero Trust Architecture and DoD cloud security requirements/liliScripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell)/liliExcellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills/liliAbility to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment/liliCertifications such as Versa Certified SD-WAN Engineer, F5-CTS, AWS Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer Associate/liliMust be a U.S. Citizen and have a Public Trust and be able to obtain a SECRET clearance/liliRequire active DoD IAT Level II (i.e. Security+) certification or equivalent prior to start/li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliKnowledge of ICAM integration and cross-domain solutions/liliPrior experience supporting DHS, USCG, or other federal cloud modernization efforts/liliStrong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills/liliExperience working with technical teams in cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT environments/li/ul/div
