onsite Network Administrator
to join our team
located in Virginia Beach, Virginia !
What you'll be doing Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software. Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Implementing network security measures. Performing routine network maintenance and upgrades. Documenting network configurations and changes. Providing technical support to end-users and resolving network-related issues. Collaborating with the IT team to develop and implement network improvement plans. Managing and supporting phone and fax systems, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting. Ensuring the proper functioning of VoIP systems and traditional phone lines. Maintaining and troubleshooting fax machines and related infrastructure. Identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities and implement security best-practices. Performing other duties as assigned. What you'll bring
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar At least 3 years of experience with network administration, monitoring tools and software required Experience with cloud networking (AWS or Azure), particularly in environments that integrate on-prem and cloud security controls Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation Experience supporting hybrid or remote work environments Knowledge of network security best practice Experience with VoIP systems such as Cisco, Avaya, or similar Knowledge of fax server software and hardware Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching Hands-on experience administering Cisco and Meraki networking solutions, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and the Meraki Dashboard. Practical experience with Cisco Firepower and/or Meraki MX firewalls; experience with Palo Alto or Fortinet is a plus. Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies Basic skills in AWS and Azure cloud platforms Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies Self-initiative, drive, and an appetite to learn Passionate positivity and a confidently humble attitude
