Meta is on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Data Scientist to join our dynamic Infrastructure Data Centers team. In this influential role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, program managers, and fellow data science teams to extract valuable insights from our Infrastructure Data Centers' data. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, conducting strategic analysis for informed decision-making, and implementing machine learning models to boost predictive accuracy while minimizing manual tasks. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments and is passionate about making a significant impact from the ground up. You will demonstrate a proven track record of thought leadership and successful development of analytics programs and machine learning solutions. Key Responsibilities: Partner with cross-functional teams to define challenges, evaluate impacts, pinpoint opportunities, and devise solutions that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Translate business challenges into data-driven inquiries, crafting suitable data science solutions including metrics, analytics, and experimentation. Identify operational weaknesses, construct analytical models to generate insights, and assist in decision-making for organizational leaders. Design and implement statistical models such as hypothesis testing, forecasting, and simulation to impact essential business decisions and Data Center operations. Leverage expertise in statistics, machine learning, optimization, and automation to create effective analytics solutions. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, data engineers, and product managers to ensure smooth progress on projects. Educate and engage with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency with a focus on empathy. Propose process optimizations driven by operational data and user behavior to enhance business performance. Mentor team members on data science best practices. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 6+ years of experience (including 2 years+ post-Ph.D.) with advanced SQL in big data environments (e.g., Hive, Presto, Spark) and data modeling. 6+ years of experience (including 2 years+ post-Ph.D.) managing and analyzing large-scale data using Python, R, or similar programming languages. 6+ years of experience (including 2 years+ post-Ph.D.) utilizing visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI. 6+ years of experience (including 2 years+ post-Ph.D.) in interpreting data, developing metrics, and communicating conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders. Experience in optimizing data collection procedures and ensuring data integrity for analysis. Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and teams. Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms. Hands-on programming experience in AI/ML, LLM, NLP, or statistical modeling. Competence in statistical analysis and experimental design. Preferred Qualifications: Technical knowledge of data center operations. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related analytical discipline. Familiarity with simulation and optimization techniques. Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence diverse organizational levels (engineers, executives, and cross-functional teams) in driving business decisions.
