Über
Senior Network Administrator
to enhance our esteemed U.S. Coast Guard program. This hybrid role requires frequent on-site engagement in Kearneysville, WV. Responsibilities Administer and maintain designated network infrastructure, including SIPRNet routers, switches, firewalls, TACLANEs, and encryption devices while ensuring adherence to DoD and DISA security standards.
Implement and enforce stringent security configurations and hardening practices across all network devices, servers, and endpoints according to STIGs and RMF standards.
Conduct comprehensive vulnerability scans using tools like ACAS and SCAP; analyze results and promptly remediate identified security vulnerabilities to uphold system accreditation.
Develop and maintain thorough network documentation, which includes architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and change control records.
Support RMF lifecycle processes by preparing and updating critical accreditation artifacts, including System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and eMASS entries.
Monitor system performance alongside security alerts; troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, and configuration issues within classified environments efficiently.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams, system engineers, and program leadership to effectively align network resources with mission objectives.
Engage in technical reviews and change control boards; offer expert insights on design modifications and improvements to security posture.
Stay informed about emerging technologies, DoD cybersecurity mandates, and best practices for managing classified network operations.
Qualifications Preferred candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a closely related field along with 12+ years of relevant experience. Required Skills and Experience Valid DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, SSCP).
A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with Cisco routers (39xx, 4xxxx, 8K), switches (29xx, 38xx, 9K), and firewalls (55xx and above).
3 years of hands-on experience with TACLANEs (KG 175D, F, N, and G) along with GEM management console capabilities at a configuration and engineering build level.
Must possess an active Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience Prior experience with the U.S. Coast Guard is highly valued.
Familiarity with Cisco ISE, DoD Zero Trust implementation, F5, Infoblox DNS, and Palo Alto firewalls is advantageous.
Experience interacting with government leadership or senior military officials is a plus.
Completion of GDMS TACLANE training is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills are crucial.
