Role Overview We are on the lookout for a Chief Solutions Architect to be the leading architect for our enterprise Next Best Action (NBA) platform. You will play a crucial role in defining and overseeing the end-to-end architecture—from domain modeling and data ingestion to decisioning, orchestration, and omnichannel activation. You will provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams ensuring that the NBA platform is scalable, secure, explainable, and compliant, all while enabling personalized, real-time engagement across various channels. The Chief Solutions Architect will be responsible for the NBA reference architecture, technical standards, and pivotal design decisions throughout the platform. You will work in close collaboration with product, engineering, data, machine learning, security, and compliance teams to create a cohesive and future-ready ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Technical Leadership Define and maintain the complete NBA platform architecture, covering aspects like data ingestion, state management, decisioning, business rules, machine learning, and channel activation.
Act as the technical authority across NBA domains, including State Machine, Action Library, Decision Engine, Data and ML Platforms, as well as Channel & Integration Services.
Establish and uphold architectural standards for API-first, event-driven, cloud-native solutions, ensuring consistency among teams and external partners.
Review and approve solution designs, key technical decisions, and non-functional requirements related to scalability, resiliency, performance, and security.
Decisioning, Rules, and AI/ML Architect decision frameworks that merge business rules, eligibility logic, and machine learning-driven insights.
Guarantee that explainability, auditability, and governance are integrated into decisioning workflows, especially for regulated use cases.
Collaborate with data science and ML teams to integrate feature stores, model serving, and MLOps into low-latency decision services.
Data & Event Architecture Define best practices for both batch and real-time data ingestion, inclusive of event streaming, state transitions, and lifecycle analytics.
Promote strong data governance, quality assurance, lineage, and observability across the NBA platform.
Align data models and contracts among domains for dependable orchestration and activation.
Activation & Integration Oversee integration strategies that implement NBA decisions across all digital and assisted platforms (web, mobile, email, SMS, push, call center, and third-party platforms).
Define reusable integration patterns, APIs, and event contracts for consistent and scalable activation.
Governance & Compliance Ensure the NBA architecture complies with security, privacy, and regulatory standards, maintaining robust audit and access controls.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to embed necessary controls in platform design.
Collaboration & Enablement Work together with engineering leads, product managers, and vendors to translate business goals into effective technical solutions.
Mentor senior engineers and architects to elevate the organization’s architectural maturity.
Assist in strategic planning, platform evolution, and build-versus-buy evaluations.
Make an Impact with Your Skills Required Qualifications Over 12 years of experience in software and platform architecture, ideally as a principal or lead architect.
Proven expertise in designing large-scale, cloud-native distributed systems.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and/or Python, API design (REST/GraphQL), and event-driven architectures (such as Kafka).
In-depth knowledge of decisioning platforms, rules engines, and machine learning integration patterns.
Experience in regulated enterprise environments (healthcare, finance, or insurance).
Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in building or scaling Next Best Action, personalization, or real-time decisioning platforms.
Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Spark/Databricks, Delta Lake, feature stores).
Knowledge of MLOps practices and model governance.
Experience leading architectural initiatives across multi-vendor and distributed teams.
Success Criteria A comprehensive and widely embraced NBA reference architecture that is consistently utilized by teams.
Scalable, explainable, and reliable decisioning and activation systems that are operational.
Strong alignment across domain teams with minimal architectural drift.
Accelerated delivery of new actions, rules, and models while mitigating operational risks.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Compensation Range The following compensation range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may vary based on geographic location, individual qualifications, skills, knowledge, experience, and education. $172,200 - $236,900 per year This role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company or individual performance.
