divh2Senior Design Engineer/h2pEatons IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer. This position will be located at our Bethel, CT facility./ppEatons Aerospace team in Bethel, CT and support to Glenolden, PA has an opening for a Design Engineer for pressure transducer/sensors product design and evaluation. The primary function of the position is design work and project engineering support for both sustaining products and new product development./ppProduct designs are evaluated with layouts, modeling, drawing creation using CAD (CATIA V5, Creo, AutoCAD) and the product release configuration control processes (Enovia). The Design Engineer will primarily focus on product design layout, modeling, and drawing creation for machining, casting, assembly, dimensional tolerance, marking, and GDT per industrial standards. Design decisions will be substantiated with appropriate analysis, trade studies, and legacy product similarities. Phase-Gate product development strategies are utilized for the concept development, design, validation, production, and delivery stages of new product implementation./ppThis role will support product design activities of mechanical and electrical product lines/focus areas by providing sustaining product support, pursuing alternative design approaches and processes when needed, while taking market trends and best practices into account./ppThe expected annual salary range for this role is $83000 - $122000 a year./ppPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations./ph2What Youll Do:/h2p Provide engineering solutions that meet customer performance requirements, interface details, reliability, cost and schedule requirements. Works with customers to define explicit non-ambiguous requirements. Provides technical direction for assigned projects from initial concept phase to product delivery./pp Understand mechanical, electric-mechanical systems and robust design methods. Responsible for concept layout, modeling, detailing, release and change management of drawings in configuration control system. Ensure compliance to quality system requirements./pp Establish technical requirements for fabricated and procured components. Select materials, finishes, processes, dimensions and GDT to meet the design intent. Work closely with manufacturing and quality engineers, customers, and suppliers. Visit suppliers and customers as required./pp Perform mechanical design tasks for cast, machined, and plastic/metallic additively manufactured components. Work with manufacturing and external suppliers to optimize design decisions. Design electromechanical sensor packaging with CAD component modeling, assembly and BOM structure creation, and production drawings./pp Work with other Eaton teams to perform structural static and dynamic analyses, thermal and fluid dynamics analyses, and other engineering analysis methods to verify compliance./pp Review customer specifications and drawings and developing Compliance Matrices against requirements./pp Manage and release drawings, models and documentation through Eatons product lifecycle management system./pp Capable of working directly with the customer and have the ability to clearly explain and discuss drawings, engineering analyses, and manufacturing processes./pp Develop plans for design verification and validation testing for design compliance. Provide support in the testing environment./pp Implement product improvement and cost reduction initiatives by evaluating engineering change requests./pp Perform Failure investigations associated with field, production and/or development/certification hardware./pp Support sales and marketing in generation of proposals and responses to customer inquiries./pp Design fluid flow products and fixturing with substantiation of design choices based on fluid mechanics concepts./pp Oversee the design, build, and testing of engineering prototypes for proposals and internal research and development projects./ph2Qualifications:/h2pstrongRequired (Basic) Qualifications:/strong
Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution./pp Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in electrical / electro-mechanical / mechanical design./pp Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future./pp This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C.
1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C.

Experience with manufacturing processes, product testing, stress analysis, magnetic properties, fluid dynamics, and thermal analysis./pp Aerospace / Automotive / Electronics industry experience./pp Experience with MEMS sensor integration and pressure sensing./ppstrongPosition Success Criteria:/strong
