Join Our Team as an Electrician!

Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, must attend a recruitment day in Glasgow)

Salary: £38,662.00 (plus potential additional shift allowance of 33%)

What You'll Be Doing

As an Electrician at BAE Systems, you will be at the heart of our mission to design and build world-leading naval ships. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing a variety of cables (multi-core, single core, and co-axial) and electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches, etc.)
  • Terminating cables and installing all electrical equipment
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Collaborating with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards
Your Skills and Experience

We’re looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • Modern Apprenticeship – SVQ 3 or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in a marine installation or major industrial installation environment
  • Understanding of assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH
  • Familiarity with relevant trade drawings
  • Knowledge of the tag-out process and correct proving dead procedure
  • Experience in mounting electrical equipment & components
  • Expertise in earthing equipment and terminating cables to skill standards
