Principal HVAC Design Engineer

Salary: Circa £55,000

As a Principal HVAC Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading the development of state-of-the-art HVAC systems. Your work will ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and environmental responsibility.

• Lead the end-to-end development of cutting-edge HVAC systems.
• Create and review impactful engineering documents, including specifications, P&IDs, calculations, and 3D models.
• Conduct advanced thermal, airflow, and pressure analyses to validate system performance.
• Transform complex requirements into innovative design solutions that set industry benchmarks.
• Guide and influence engineers, suppliers, and design partners for optimal HVAC integration.
• Enhance design standards and evaluate specialist equipment, contributing to reviews and lifecycle verification.

Essential:

• Strong technical expertise in HVAC and mechanical system design.
• Awareness of multi-disciplinary system integration challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders.
• STEM degree (or equivalent experience), ideally working toward or holding professional registration (CEng preferred).

Desirable:

• Proven experience in complex or regulated industries.
• Knowledge of standards such as ISO 15138, BS EN 378, ASHRAE, or CIBSE.
• Skilled in system performance assessment and failure analysis.
