Join Our Team as a Pipefitter!

Location: Glasgow Govan and Scotstoun (On-site attendance required for a recruitment day in Glasgow)

Salary: £38,662.00 (with an additional shift allowance of 33% potentially applicable)

Your Mission:

As a Pipefitter, you will be at the heart of our operations, fabricating and installing piping systems that are crucial to our projects in the defence sector. Your expertise will ensure that our installations meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Fabricating and installing pipework systems using various materials, including copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
  • Utilizing hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes, as well as install pipework.
  • Installing utilities aboard ships, such as sinks, showers, and toilets.
  • Assembling fittings, valves, and related components according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborating with other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
  • Adhering to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work carried out.
Your Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (to be provided with your application) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Current knowledge and experience in pipe manufacture, installation, and associated equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Clear understanding of SHE , COSHH, and Risk Assessments.
  • Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.

Desirable:

  • Marine Pipefitting Experience.
  • Experience in industrial or commercial settings preferred.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
