divh2Systems Administrator/h2pJames Scott, LLC is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support one of its top-tier intelligence customers. This role is critical in delivering mission-essential technology solutions to the DoD IC, ensuring the seamless operation of systems that safeguard national security. Key responsibilities shall include:/pulliSystem Management: Maintain multi-user systems, collaborating with network engineers and IT staff for optimal performance./liliResource Monitoring: Oversee system resources (CPU, disk usage, response times) to ensure efficient network operations./liliSystems Security Administration: Implement security best practices, manage user accounts, and harden systems against threats./liliTier 3 Support: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues as a Tier 3 support specialist./liliSystem Configuration Optimization: Install and configure operating systems, system-wide software, and optimize system performance./liliBackup Recovery: Manage hardware/software installations, recommend system improvements, and establish robust backup and disaster recovery plans./liliPolicy Development: Develop and enforce policies and standards for effective computing resource utilization./liliUser Interaction Vendor Management: Work with end-users to assess requirements, evaluate vendor products, and recommend hardware/software purchases./li/ulpRequired Qualifications:/pulliBachelors degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience (additional experience may substitute for a degree)./lili5+ years of experience in systems administration, specifically with Linux or CentOS./liliStrong teamwork and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues proactively./liliExperience maintaining applications built on PostgreSQL or Oracle databases./liliProficiency in writing scripts for system monitoring, log analysis, and automation./liliExperience writing SQL and PL/SQL for data reporting and modifications./liliHands-on experience with Keytool and OpenSSL./liliFamiliarity with troubleshooting Java Oracle applications./liliXML proficiency./liliDoD 8570 Compliant with an active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, GICSP, SSCP, etc.)./liliExperience managing systems in cloud environments./liliUnderstanding of Firewalls and AWS Security Groups./li/ulpDesired Qualifications:/pulliLinux+ certification/liliRHCSA/RHCE certification/liliCurrent CI polygraph/liliMicrosoft MCSA certification/liliVMware Certified Professional/liliKnowledge of SQL Servers/li/ulpThis is an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-critical operations and support national intel initiatives.
