divh2Senior Quality Engineer- Defense-Onsite Position/h2pWe have a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer based at our Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Santa Clarita, CA site./ppAs our Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Quality Engineering team that supports the multi-site Quality Systems. You will drive continual improvement of the AS9100 certified Quality System and FAA Parts 21 145 Repair Station to minimize cost of quality while maximizing customer satisfaction through the delivery of on-time, high quality, highly reliable product./ppA background in FAA 145 repair station and Part 21 production in addition to electronics manufacturing, electrical design and experience with IPC 610 Class 3 requirements in aerospace and defense are considered significant weighted preferred experience for this role./ppYou will demonstrate strong communications skills and the ability to engage across all levels of the organization in building effective relationships. This position will interact with our customers and execute AS9100/FAA Compliance Activities via internal audits. Criteria such as the candidates qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer./ppWe Take Care of Our People/ppPaid Time Off I 401K with Employer Match and Profit Sharing I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Referral Program I Competitive Pay I Recognition/ppYour Challenge:/pulliSupports the sites various certifications AS9100, FAA Parts 21 145 production and repair processes./liliDrives the CAPA process through the organization, including implementation/improvement to tools, training, and metrics./liliManages the assigned Program Customer Quality process, ensuring quick response and effective corrective actions on customer raised SCARS, audit findings and feedback obtained through the Customer Service Index (CSI) process./liliSupports the planning and execution of the internal audit plans designed to ensure sustained compliance to AS9100, FAA Parts 21 145./liliInteract with Program Managers, Supply Chain, Operations, Contracts and other Engineering disciplines to ensure compliance to Quality requirements and resolve Customer and Product Line nonconformances as required./liliSupports the FRB/MRB process in an efficient and effective manner to keep material flowing aging/inventory values and drives reductions in product defects through continuous improvement./liliPerforms root cause analysis (8D,5 Whys) of identified manufacturing issues and identify appropriate corrective and preventive action./liliLeverages a strong foundation in Lean Six Sigma methodology to support continual process improvement and product yield investigations in support of improving customer satisfaction./liliProvides QA support on the implementation of Engineering Change Orders, Program Instructions, Waivers and Material Substitution Requests/liliRepresents Quality at monthly quarterly Business, Operations and Global Quality Reviews./liliSupports quality in the product life cycle (Proposal, Design, Production, Services and Sustainment./liliPerforms COPQ Data Extraction / Analysis /Compilation and improvements/liliLead Root Cause and Corrective Actions for customer found issues/liliSupports ESD, MSD, 5S ROHS Management programs as required./liliAd-Hoc Travel will be required to visit customers, carry out audits and meet periodically to discuss quality plans face-to-face at other C5ISR sites within the division./li/ulpWhat You Bring:/pulliBachelor of Science degree in Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical/Software Engineering or technical equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of prior related experience or Graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience./liliIn lieu of a degree, candidates may be considered with a minimum of 5 years of prior related experience within the aerospace and defense industry or military experience commensurate in with the position responsibilities, skills and experience required./liliExperience with the implementation and maintenance of a registered AS9100 QMS applied to both manufacturing and product development preferably within an FAA Part 145 21 environment./liliKnowledge of 14 CFR Part 21 and 145 is a plus/liliApproachable hands-on style with the ability to engage with people at all levels of management./liliExcellent English Language written and oral communication skills; composing written reports and other communications is required./liliSuperior analytical skills, capable of using current computer analysis tools (Microsoft Office, Outlook plus others applicable programs)./liliEncourages high level collaboration of cross-functional teams./liliKnowledgeable in the interpretation and application of the following standards: J-STD-001, IPC- A-600, IPC-A-610 Rev D Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721./lili8D or other structured problem-solving methodology expertise./liliASQ CMQOE and/or ASQ CQE will be considered significant assets/liliExperience interfacing directly with major customers on Quality issues./liliESD and MSD Control Requirements./liliKnowledge of tooling Calibration program management, recalls, calibration schedules and asset maintenance/liliExperience with SAP S4 Hana and MES applications is an asset/liliKnowledge and use of SQL, Python and or PowerBi dashboard developments is considered a plus./liliStrong interpersonal and communication skills./liliHigh degree of Product Integrity and Ethical standards/li/ulpWho We Are:/ppCurtiss-Wright Defense Solutions is the leading provider of Digital Infrastructure to the battlefield.
