Were developing the core infrastructure for stablecoin-based paymentsenabling fast, secure, and scalable money movement worldwide. As a Senior Software Engineer, youll design and scale systems that power deposits, withdrawals, and third-party payments across Coinbase products like Retail, Exchange, Prime, and Custody. Youll lead high-impact projects, integrate new blockchains, and work closely with cross-functional teams to bring stablecoin utility to businesses of all sizes./ppWhat youll be doing:/pulliDesign, build, and maintain backend systems and infrastructure that power stablecoin pay-ins, payouts, deposits, and withdrawals./liliServe as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for key projects, driving them from design to production with high accountability./liliCollaborate with cross-functional teamsincluding product, design, infrastructure, and complianceto deliver robust and scalable solutions./liliWork closely with teams across Coinbase (e.g., CDP Payments API, Onramp APIs, CoinBiz) to integrate stablecoin functionality into core products./liliHelp build internal and external APIs that make it easy for businesses and partners to leverage stablecoin-powered money movement./liliIdentify and address performance, scalability, and reliability challenges across systems./liliMentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong, inclusive, and high-performing engineering culture./liliStay up to date on the evolving crypto ecosystem, identifying opportunities to improve utility, adoption, and innovation in stablecoin infrastructure./li/ulpWhat we look for in you:/pulliMinimum 5 years of experience in software engineering./liliProven experience building and operating large-scale backend systems, ideally in fintech, payments, or crypto./liliStrong proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., Go, Java, or similar) and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP)./liliDeep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and system design./liliExperience working with crypto or blockchain technologies is a strong plusbut not required./liliA product-minded approach to engineeringyou care about the why behind what you build./liliStrong ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects end-to-end as a DRI./liliCollaborative spirit and ability to work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams./liliEnthusiasm for building foundational technology in a fast-moving, high-impact space./li/ulpNice to haves:/pulliPrior experience working with stablecoins, DeFi protocols, or on-chain payments./liliFamiliarity with smart contract platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Base) and related developer tools./liliContributions to open-source crypto or blockchain projects./liliExperience building multi-chain or cross-chain applications./liliKnowledge of regulatory or compliance considerations in crypto payments./liliInterest in or experience with tokenomics, financial primitives, or digital asset infrastructure./liliPrevious experience in a startup or hyper-growth environment where you had to wear multiple hats./li/ulpPay Range: $186,005$218,900 USD/ppCommitment to Equal Opportunity/ppCoinbase is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
